Banned! Donald Sterling Banned from the LA Clippers and NBA Games...

We did not hesitate to strop Paula Deen of all her endorsement deals when it was revealed that she called one of her employees the ‘N’ word, so dealing with Donald Sterling should be no different.  The powers that be seem to be in agreement.

The NBA Commissioner announced the league's decision just days after audio surfaced of Sterling allegedly telling his girlfriend not to associate with black people, like Magic Johnson, and not to bring them to team games.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has banned L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling from any association with the Clippers or the NBA.

Sterling has also been fined $2.5 million, the maximum allowed by the league.

Sterling has come under fire since audio surfaced Friday night of him allegedly telling girlfriend V. Stiviano not to publicly associate with black people, including Magic Johnson, and not to bring them to Clippers games.

Since then players, team owners and Hollywood stars have condemned Sterling, with some, like Magic Johnson, vowing never to go to another Clippers game.  The NBA also began investigating Sterling, with Silver promising a swift decision about the owner.

The NBA Players Association said it wanted Sterling banned from all playoff games this season and for the league to levy the maximum punishment possible against him.  The Clippers are set to take on the Golden State Warriors at the Staples Center Tuesday night in Game 5 of the team's first-round playoff series.

The Sterling Tape is Legitimate...

It seems that several organizations are trying to question the legitimacy of the audio recordings shared by TMZ in which LA Clippers owner, Donald Sterling makes several racist statements.  Our sources at THR have shared a statement from the attorney for V. Stiviano, the woman heard in the audio containing the racist remarks, which says that the audio is ‘ligitimate,’ and that Stiviano did not release the clip to news media.

Further, her attorney states:  “this office understands that the currently released audio tape of approximately 15 minutes is a portion of approximately 1 hour of overall audio recording of Mr. Donald T. Sterling and Ms. Stiviano, and is in fact legitimate,” this from attorney Mac E. Nehoray.  “Ms. Stiviano did not release the tape(s) to any news media.  Due to the present litigation and its absurd allegations, which Ms. Stiviano vehemently denies, Ms. Stiviano and this office have no further comment.
