Raging Fyah - Better Tomorrow | Official Music Video

Grammy nominated Raging Fyah has debuted their brand new video for “Better Tomorrow” today on premier music website Relix. The single will be released on Friday March 29th and will be included on their upcoming album soon to be revealed.

Raging Fyah stays true to their roots rock reggae sound with this brand-new song. “Better Tomorrow” is a lyrically powerful song that gives the message of building a bridge instead of creating a wall, serving as a literal and figurative metaphor for one love and unity. In a politically divided time, Raging Fyah shows us that coming together is the answer and division will only tear us apart.

Directed by Dubee of Upsetta, the video wanted to portray images of current events around the world and what should be done to make things better. “We wanted the video to connect to all kinds of people regardless of race, age and background,” said band member Pele. “We think the director did a good job at capturing the power of human connection,” he continued.

“Better Tomorrow” is such an important song in this political climate,” said band member Demar. “We know there is a lot to be done and we just want to do our small part by spreading the message of unity to the world,” he concluded.

The Streetz Productions and Journey Music Presents: Patexx – You Can Make It!

Ah bwoy!  This thing called ‘Life’ can be a tricky thing.  At some points you are doing so well, and then in the blink of an eye you lose what you’ve gained.  The actions of another person causes you great loss and you have to rebuild, and it’s the rebuilding that’s the hardest part.

Patexx understands the struggle of having to overcome.  His personal journey is one to be proud of.  He’s overcome obstacles to the point that he can sing about it and inspire others.  In comes the musical ting called “You Can Make It!”

Produced by The Streetz Productions and Patexx’s own label Journey Music, the song speaks to the person or people who are in the struggle.  The artist sings:  mih seh the journey of life it nuh easy / whole heap ah struggles believe me / sing dah song yah for the poor and needy / ah dih most High alone can free we / you can make it if yuh try / lift your head up high / yuh haffi have a purpose inna life / yes I know you can make it if you try…”

To accompany the song, Patexx shot a music video live on location in New York.  No green screen business – straight reality on the streets!

Protoje – Kingston Be Wise!

There is one music video that right now is on the tongues, computer screens and flat screens of the masses, and that music video is “Kingston Be Wise.”  By extension, the artist who performs the chune, Protoje is also at the Reggae forefront; not because of his cool handsome exterior (sex does not play a role in this but Protoje is a handsome man), nor because of his exuding swag, but because of the hard hitting lyrics we cannot go around. 

Beginning with the music, the riddim was produced by veteran Don Corleon, and the track is taken from Protoje’s soon to be released album The 8 Year Affair (hits all digital retail outlets January, 2013).  In the chune, Proto as he’s nicknamed asks us to be wise.  Why?  Because the source of our information (the news via television) is controlled by interest groups and that means we don’t always get the full story hence the punch line “Kingston Be Wise.” 

Adding to the already great offering of sound and voice, we have the vocal ‘riff’ of the ‘Stepping it hot’ Don, Mr. Ini Kimoze making this song one of the hottest to close out 2012.  If this track is any indication of what we can expect from the album, I’d say Kingston, and Jamaica, and the world has a lot to be thankful for.
