Richie Spice's "Red Hot" Filled with Symbolism

Reggae legend and Icon, Richie Spice is getting ready to release a music video for his song "Red Hot" and the imagery in the music video is filled with poetic symbolism.

A cover of the Max Romeo song of the same name (full title "Valley of Jehoshaphat (Red Hot)"), Richie takes the approach of being the storyteller who gives a view of where humanity is.  Directed by Samo (Jah9, Chronixx, Jesse Royal), the use of the horns as a focus is telling (think the Archangel Gabriel), just as the man carrying the door is symbolic (the door is a portal to go to another place).  Samo also subtly uses a young lady at the side of the road holding a rose and picking off the roses petals.  This is another way of asking 'where is love?'

If you are a Richie Spice fan, and if you appreciate symbolism, you are gong to love the new music video coming from the artist.

Richie's new album, Together We Stand is due on digital retail shelves in June.  Connect with him on Instagram via @1RichieSpice

HOTTT New Tour Announcement ►►► Richie Spice – Grooving My Girl!

Greetings!

One of the most prolific artists for our ears to hear over the past decade is Richie Spice.  His signature voice, combined with his ‘na-na-na-na-na-na-na’ and his lyrics make his music some of the most listened to and requested.

Richie Spice, in the month of May, is officially on tour in the United States!

I have exclusively learned that the artist is giving fans a one hour performance which includes hits from his lengthy catalog as well as songs from his new album Soothing Sounds:  Acoustic!  You’ll remember my review of his album a few months ago, and you’ll remember me calling it a private performance.  Well thanks to this tour, you can enjoy Mr. Spice up close and personal!

Hits from the albums Gideon Boot ("Plane Land"), In the Streets to Africa ("Youths Dem Cold"), Book of Job ("Black Woman") and more are just the beginning!

More details coming soon.  Email inquiries can be sent to nbwagency@gmail.com or by following @NBWBookings on Twitter.

Richie Spice – Soothing Sounds: Acoustic

Sometimes the best way to experience Reggae music, not Dancehall, but Reggae, is via a live stage show with a band.  Depending on where you live, or even economic situation, that may not be possible.  Richie Spice offers the perfect solution.

Just released is his album Soothing Sounds:  Acoustic which hears some of his most famous songs set to a canvass of the acoustic sound – minimal instruments and most importantly, without electronic touch.

The 15 track disk features songs like “True Love,” “Free” (which I’ve been playing on my radio show for the past month), and “Searching.”  The highlight of “Searching” is the drumming which accentuates the urgency of the heartbeat.  Absolutely brilliant!

In addition to the ‘acoustics’ accentuating the sound, Spice reminds us that he is one of us and understands the struggles that we face as he faces them too.  The gist is we are all in this together.  When the background singer sings “whoa” on the song “Hang On In Deh,” it’s a cry on our behalf – the people who are suffering.

On the flip side, songs like “My Girl” bring out the lover in Spice and his listeners too.  This is the kind of song makes couples snuggle up closer, rock and sway and be thankful they have one another.  This track is definitely another favourite.  Spicing up (pun intended) the love offering is track 10 called ‘All Night” in which Spice uses a Banjo for effect.  Musical Murdah!

For some reason, we the listener, connect with Spice’s voice, and don’t have the interference of multiple instruments – our ears are opened and hearts receptive to the much needed messages and the actionable encouragement.

P.S.  Track 15 is a surprise, and one you will Love!
