Elijah Salomon ft Cali P - Joyful Streets (Official Music Video 2019)

The more you travel is the more you see.  The more you see is the more you feel; the more you feel is the more one’s music relates. Elijah Salomon and Cali P have hit the mark with how much their music relates.

“Joyful Streets” is the newest single from Elijah.  Produced by One Camp Records, the song evokes every positive ray of sunshine and every feel-good vibe making it an undeniable song to play on radio and add to your playlist.  The bass line is deep and moving like the Niger river, and the Guitar is the friendly ‘hello’ being said to passersby.  Elijah’s use of an authentic Talking Drum (similar to the sound created by Massamba Diop for the movie Black Panther) gives the song a familiar feel.

Lyrically Elijah sings: “sun is shining it’s a brand-new day / music playing the wind take it away / people coming in / making their way / everybody smiling it’s a joyful day….”

Sizzla Kalonji Chooses Born Afrikan for "Partners In Crime!"

It is no secret that Sizzla Kalonji has a deep affection for Africa. If you listen to some of his interviews, you’ll hear the artist talk about his respect for the land, for the people, for Africa’s wealth.  It should come as no surprise that Sizzla chose to work with performing artist Born Afrikan on a new track entitled “Partners in Crime.”

Born Afrikan was born in Malawi but made South Africa his home.  He began singing as a toddler in church, and his talent nurtured by his family. Fast forward to today, and we have the true Roots single with Sizzla.

Alongside a wicked bass line that runs the chune, Born Afrikan sings:  “they came to say they will help us / all they do is abuse us / they buy expensive cars / spend our money and build big mansions / for sure the time is coming / when my Father will judge everyone / when their train is going to clash / and all the wicked / dem ago perish / cause them ah partners in crime….”

For those of you who like roots music, this chune is for you … and for those who want to hear the classic Sizzla voice, this chune is definitely for you!
