Dancehall artist Alty B has struck certified Gold with his newest release called “Wine Up Yuh Body” on the Tech Sweedz Riddim produced by Smokey from Smoke Shop Productions! 

To Alty B, there is nothing more appealing in the club than when you see a woman wine up her body, so with that thought process, the artist put his thoughts into song! 

Performed to a riddim that is Dancehall with a lot of Techno, Alty rides the beat effortlessly as he DJ’s “love dih way you ah wine on dih sum’n / every man inna dih club waan say sum’n / look pon dih way you ah bubble / body double my girl yuh ah trouble / my girl me waan jump in yuh middle / yuh nah soft and mih fit like a fiddle / this ah no rhyme mih nuh tink seh a riddle / can dash out yuh middle / wine up yuh body gyal….”  Murdah! 

Smokey, once again showing off his compositional dexterity, gives listeners a riddim that is so modern day classic, it can be used as a techno beat alone, or as a Dancehall beat.  As a matter of fact, what makes the riddim Dancehall are the performances of the artists who all happen to be Dancehall DJ’s.  If you’re going from one genre to another (Dancehall to Techno), this riddim / chune is for you!

HOTTT New Reggae! Lindo P – Contraversy - Smoke Shop Production!

One of the first artists in the Reggae and Dancehall genre, from Canada, to have the international market calling his name is Lindo P!  The artists lyrical composition, combined with his lyrical delivery, has made him one of the most sought after which still remains up to today! 

Reggae and Dancehall fans in Canada and around the world are now reacting to Lindo P teaming with Smokey of Smoke Shop Productions, and the reaction is positive with most calling it – Musical Murdah! 

We heard Lindo P ‘Dancehall settings’ style on the chune “Exercise” from the Thump It riddim (produced by Smoke Shop Productions and distributed by Zojak), now today we hear Lindo P ‘Reggae settings’ style with the chune “Contraversy!” 

The title of the song is exactly the way the artist wants it spelled, and, Lindo brings ample controversy to the chune beginning with his intro which is a skit of Babylon badding up the artist wanting info on ‘which part dih weed deh!’  Lindo goes on to deliver these lyrics:  “dem seh / ‘yuh know Sizzla’ / me say ‘no Dadda’ / me nuh know Bounty Killer / Me nuh know Spragga / Me nuh know Jagga B / and me nuh know Zagga / never hear say Chronicle ah walk wid more dagga / yuh nuh know Capleton / me only know more Fiyah / yuh know Buju Banton / mih send him more prayer / if yuh looking for a snitch yuh need to check Papi / cause him sell out Shawn Storm and Kartel him Daddy ….”  Musical Murdah – and it gets better from there.  Woi! 

The riddim track is a re-lick of a classic 90’s chune from Lady Junie (now goes by the name Junie Platinum) which gives radio programmers, Club DJ’s and mixtape specialists lots of room to move from old school to new school and vice versa.  I’m telling you, the chune is straight Murdah!

Sunday Settings! Faze ft. Kaylie Sea – The Vibes Am Feeling!

Since the 90’s, we haven’t really seen duets be the focus in music.  Men are doing their thing, women are doing their thing and not too many artists are thinking of working together, until we come to Faze Fizzle from Toronto! 

Faze works well with the ladies and today, he introduced us to his newest project which features Kaylie Sea.  The chune “The Vibe Am Feeling,” is sweet Lover’s Rock which is a great combination of the grit of Faze’s voice, and the silk of Kaylie’s.  To summarize, this is beauty and the beast on wax! 

Musically, this co-production between Faze (Faze Fizzle Productions) and Smoke Shop Productions is reminiscent of Lover’s Rock from the UK.  Deep bass designed for a hard core rub-a-dub session will result in hip to hip activity for Lover’s locked up in their rooms.  For Lover’s at a party, once the blue light goes on, and this chune drops, the wallpaper is coming off the walls!  Murdah! 

How does Kaylie answer when Faze Sing-Jays “well all night ah lovin / with half an hour intermission / make your body pay the dues like tuition / girl / smooth / starting and now ah time fih conclusion / yuh fih enjoy yuhself based on facial expression….”  Kaboom!

Dancehall Settings! Michie Mee – Bad Gyal Bubble {Smoke Shop Productions}

 

Ok so it’s Friday and it’s time to get ready for club settings and tonight, Michie ‘Badgyal’ Mee’s got your back, and she’s got it hard! 

Taking centre stage, Canada’s undisputed Queen absolutely destroys the Madd Rass Riddim produced by Smokey of Smoke Shop Productions.  She destroys the riddim so badly, new meaning is given to the expression ‘gangsta rass!’ 

Luring you in with the title of the chune “Bad Gyal Bubble,” Michie flips the script as the first line of the chune the Queen says ‘mih nah (beep) up dih intro mih juss waan talk it real.’  From there, the badgyal lets loose a plethora of lyrics aimed at taking out her foes who has underrated her.  The brilliance is based on the title, you would think the chune is another ‘I can bubble and wine – watch me’ type of chune and this is far, I repeat FAR from that! 

Michie goes so hard, a Dubplate is a must as the chune will kill any sound caught in its cross hairs (bulls eye).  Musically, Smoke Shop Productions does the strength of the lyrics justice as the riddim goes just as hard.   

Using heavy bass and 808’s, Smokey (Smoke Shop Productions) uses these instruments to literally hammer home the point Michie is making.  Murdah!  Adding to that, synthesized riffs by a clarinet and flute are the only mercy or ‘lightness’ the listener experiences.  Murdah again!  Did I mention the riddim has a nice throwback Dancehall vibe to it?!  This straight heat for the street. 

Riddim up!  The Queen goes hard as (shut yo mouth) on this track…!

Tha Vor Gives Them ‘What They Want!’

Without dispute, Tha Vor is one of my favourite artists because this dude has swag locked.  No, I’m not one of ‘those’ chicks who wants a dude dressed in brand this, or brand that pushing a whip on Asanti wheels and rims.  Instead, I’m a chick who’s turned on by the lyrics an artist throws to me in hopes I can catch.  I’m a catcher! 

So Tha Vor has released the video for “What They Want” which is a Reggae infused Hip Hop track that is a juxtaposition between the spiritual (good overcoming evil) and the physical (relations with a young lady); and the concept works! 

Peep the video, and vibe to these lyrics:  “yo Joe / my voice taking the world ova / yo dude / I thought I was just here to kill cobras / got heavy rollers / mic / army of angels on my shoulda / caught up in the star wars / I rip the force like Yoda / but soddering ah weh dih young gyal want / getting hysterical / ain’t even flipped that / green / already she calling me incredible / flow / on point ….” 

 

P.S.  Big up Smoke Shop Productions on the beat which is dirty, rude, lacks manners and has no behavior.  In other words … it’s our kind of music!  J
