HOTTT New Dancehall ►►► Romain Virgo – Jah Jah Over Everything!

Greetings!

With the backative of a double timed drum line and a swift synthesized riff, Romain Virgo wastes no time getting to the message every youth must know:  the system is not designed to make you succeed, but so long as you have Jah, you’ll be fine.

In today’s Dancehall arena, artists and fans keep dwelling on the ‘badmind’ element and the ‘fake friends’ element, but who’s reminding the people about the traps and barriers designed to not allow us to succeed?  Romain Virgo is!  Listen to the artist:  “some deh near / some come from far / waan tek we life / want fih give we scar / waan see we head roll out pon tar / dem nuh want the youths tun superstar / but ah Jah Jah over all tings / all tings / dih enemy will never prevail….”  KA-BOOM … and you need to hear the rest of the lyrics!

Without apology, Romain Virgo gives it to us straight; they don’t want us to turn Superstar.  If an award could be given for powerful lyrics in a chune, this would be the leading candidate.  For those of you who don’t play Dancehall, this chune is your exception to that rule!  I can’t say it enough … don’t sleep, pause or blink on this chune and please don’t say I didn’t tell you!

HOTTT New Island Pop Soul ►►► Tarrus Riley – To the Limit!

Greetings!

Tarrus Riley takes Island Pop Soul to new limits with his brand new chune “To the Limit” and he’s taking fans along with him for the ride!

Working with producers Juke Boxx Productions and Jam House Records, Tarrus performs on a riddim that is not quite Reggae, and is not quite Dancehall, but can only be called Island Pop Soul.  The artist tells us about a lady who is waiting with one command:  “listen woman I don’t drive too fast / buckle up girl / and now just relax / yes you know I know this road / take you on a journey with eyes closed / and she said / hurry up / push it too the limit….”  Ka-Boom!

Now hear where the juice gets sweet!  When you the 808 and the bass line drops, combined with synthesizer and a hint of an organ and we have musical murdah.  Don’t let the piano in the first 8 bars fool you!  This is a hit chune especially to be heard in a mix.  Imagine this song mixed with chunes with a disco-ish kind of vibe?!  Musical Murdah!

HOTTT New Dancehall Freestyle from Sting 2012! Busy Signal – Mystery History!

Sting 2012 was stung by Busy Signal in front of a home audience and international audience who was baited by every syllable put together to form every lyric.  In a word, Busy was outstanding!

Dressed in a suit of white, the Dancehall DJ took to the stage just after 4:00am, his first song being “Nah Go Ah Jail,” from there, we went off, and the audience went off too.  Busy could not be stopped.

Delivering what all critics agree to be the performance of the night, Busy styled those who needed to be styled and he did it with lyrics we haven’t heard before.  He did it with a true Freestyle and guess what the artist and Management asked me to share with you today (even though I’m supposed to be on Christmas holidays!)?!  Yes, the Freestyle.

Here’s a quick pree of a few syllables and please note, the chune begins with the sound of a plane flying:  informer call mih name / jah know dih bwoy dem sell me out / B-U-S-Y ah so dih bwoy spell me out / deh pon ah flight from Amsterdam / dih bwoy corral me out / inna dih immigration line me hear dih bwoy dem yell me out / say mih nah go ah jail again still dih bwoy dem jail me out / so mih link wid KD Knight fih see if he can bail me out ….”

The brilliance of the words is that Busy told all his fans last night exactly what happened direct.  No host asking questions, no words to read, just Busy holding a reasoning directly with his fans.  Musical Murdah!  Read Busy's exclusive interview at www.L3Magazine.com!

HOTTT New Anthem! Busy Signal – God Mih Seh!

There will never be another artist from this generation as remarkable as Busy Signal.  The artist’s ability to capture energy and release it through song is something we have not seen from others, and I don’t think we will see.  Today’s release is another example of the artists’ brilliance.

As you can imagine, jail is not nice.  It is a place where people are locked without hope and without support.  It is a place that is difficult to find a light.  Busy understands that which is why his new song “God Mih Seh” is such an exceptional chune.

Let me begin with the musical composition.  Using the sound of the ‘death bell,’ and the hum of an ominous choir, Busy’s own label, Turf Muzik and Riff Raff lay a foundation of foreboding.  The instrumentation is something for a horror movie … but this is Busy Signal we’re talking about!

Lyrically, Busy contrasts the darkness of the music by using his voice as a weapon of light.  This is what he says:  “God mih seh / mih nuh work fih satan / bun the enemy / slew dih pagan / Busy mih deya fih please dih nation / mih nuh mix up wid no evil nor no demon / we nah join dem congrega – shun / we nuh owe nuh bwoy no oblige-shun / mih couldn’t wait fih dih damn plane land / freedom worth more than gold and diamond ….”

In other words, Busy could have been sucked into thoughts of evil and darkness, but instead chooses the path he has always chosen … the light.  Salute!

To truly get the full hundred, to truly get the full influence of this chune, request this chune the next time you go out to a Dancehall event.  Every lighter that burns is a salute to Busy, and a salute to all who choose the light over darkness.

P.S.  Tweet with Team Busy and let him know what you think of the chune >>>
