Kyle Lowry's Top 10 Pre All-Star Game Playlist!

It was just announced (Thursday January 22nd, 2015) that Toronto Raptor Kyle Lowry will be a starter on team East for the NBA All Star game.  This honor is reserved for the best players in the NBA as voted by players and the fans.  To celebrate (Toronto is my home team after all), I decided to put together my top 10 songs for Kyle’s pre-game listening party!

P.S.  I’m a Reggae and Dancehall chick but I had to throw in some Hip Hop too.  My soundtrack for Kyle Lowry:

Kyle Lowry
10.  Stylo G – Move Back (Diztortion Remix)
9.  Gloomy Grade – Can’t Stop Me Now
8.  Snoop Lion – Here Comes the King
7.  Big Daddy Kane – Ain’t No Half Steppin
6.  Bigga Boss – Nobody Fih Ramp Wid
5.  Bobby Shmurdah – Hot Ni&&a
4.  King Ali Baba – Target
3.  Kranium – History
2.  Busy Signal – Glass Hand
1.  Demarco – Levels to This

As point guard from Villanova by way of Cardinal Doughtery High School in Philadelphia, Kyle has worked his way up from the bottom which is why the number one song comes from Demarco called “Levels to This.”  Anyone who thinks this just ‘came’ to Kyle or any other player, have no idea the training and regiment players go through.

Congrats Kyle … can’t wait to see you do us proud!

HOTTT New Reggae ►►► King Ali Baba – Herbalist!

Greetings!

Music is an interesting journey in the sense that what is old to you, is new to me and what is old to me is new to you.  King Ali Baba is neither old nor new, neither is his new song “Herbalist.”  This is a chune that is and always will be.  Let me explain!

Herbs, date back to the beginning of time.  We don’t say herbs are old, and we don’t say they’re new; they just are.  Just the same, King Ali Baba gives us timeless lyrics when he DJ’s:  “I ah herbalist / Babylon surround mih ganja field wid all biologist / dem carry it in ah dem lab and ah call it cannabis / but King Selassie I say dem caan touch one ah dis / but answer dis yes / Rasta man / till the soil / while Babylon ah waste things / dem fly gone ah moon / and talk bout say dem ah trace things / leave it alone that’s the way Mother nature make things / dung ah Africa mih neva used to face things ….”  KA-BOOM!

Produced by Mek Money Records (and distributed digitally via Hapilos 21st), this chune is one that will spread like wildfire across the nations.  The command of the drums at the beginning of the chune wake you to attention, and the bass line takes up residence in your heart reminding you that the words you hear are the truth.  As for the skank … Mercy!

HOTTT New Reggae! King Ali Baba - Tribulation!

Working with Stingray Records in the UK, King Ali Baba holds a firm meditation on behalf of all those who are going through great “Tribulation.”

This new release from the King speaks for the nations, almost like a lamentation, however, listeners souls become joyful when they hear the punch line encouraging them to persevere.  The King sings / chants to our hearts as if to say he is on the trod with us – we’re not alone.

Pree the lyrics:  “The earth is the Lords and the fullness / but ah ghetto yute get put to the full test / nuff ah we can read because we bookless / so Babylon / where is your goodness / you only issue gun / and give the Don ah new vest….”

In addition to the powerful lyrics, the bass line acts as our heart beat which pulses steadily; it doesn’t stop and it doesn’t quit.  Nor should we!
