You Are the Moment 2021 Is Waiting For!

We all have moments!  That moment when you knew 'this is the career path for me,' or 'this is the person I will spend the rest of my life with' or better yet, this place (city, town, country) is where I am supposed to be.'  These are all 'moments.'

When God created you, YOU became a moment.  You became an energy that is absolutely needed and wanted on this earth.

2021 needs several moments.  Twenty Twenty-One needs you.  Be it.  Be every one of those moments that this year needs you to be.  #LoveYou!

You Can't Own My Success!

My Random Sunday Thought...

There is a common misperception that people ‘owe’ other people and it’s a misconception that must stop.  Here’s how the misconception starts: “if it wasn’t for me, Joe Public wouldn’t have met Jane Public and get his big break.”  Sound familiar? 

First and foremost, God and the Universe work in tandem to make sure a shared agreement plays out.  This means, some of career happenings happen, not because of the ‘owners’ but because it is a Universal plan.  

Second, we are here at Gods design.  This means that our actions are a part of his overall plans, so how can any one person say “if it wasn’t for ‘me’ Joe Public wouldn’t get where he is?”  How about the perception be changed to ‘one way or another Joe Public is going to succeed because he’s been blessed with that spirit?!’

I make note that there are many people who collectively contribute to our success.  How about we start with Mom and Dad who birthed us?  Teachers who put in extra effort to make sure we learned?  Coaches and mentors who gave us extra encouragement; and oh, the sleepless nights that we stayed up preparing for the future we knew was sure to come … which landed on the desk of Mr. or Mrs. Important person at XYZ Company who put us on.  If the talent was developed before hand, would they even have something to try to ‘own?’

People who are musicians, players of instruments and who sing at center stage are especially subjected to this non-sense way of warped thinking.  If it’s not the vocal coach it’s the producer; if it’s not the producer it’s the concert promoter and if it’s not the concert promoter then for sure it’s the radio jock who played the song for his 5.2 billion listeners why success is at your door.

Just in case there’s a person in your life who won’t stop with the ‘because of me’ rhetoric, just understand that your success is not tied to one person.  Your success is tied to you being daring enough to take risks and chances in places that other people were not willing to go.

You can own a car, a house and a bank account but you cannot own my success!  Go easy!

Spice is the #CoverGirl for L3 Magazine - March, 2015!

After a 3 month hiatus, L3 Magazine returns with an explosive March, 2015 issue which features Dancehall Diva Spice on the cover.  Speaking to Tricia ‘ZJ Sparks’ Spence (Contributing and Caribbean Affairs Editor) Spice exclusively shares behind the scenes thoughts on her career, collaborations and balance between work and home life.

In a never before told story, Spice shares the reason why Vybz Kartel made her miserable and cry, and also shares that there are a lot more collaborations between the two of them that go beyond “Romping Shop” and “Conjugal Visit.”  In the midst of telling her professional story, she shares her personal story which revolves around her family, and the name by which she is known, Grace Hamilton!

Senior Writer Song River exclusively interviews Braxton A. Cosby, nephew of Bill Cosby, who tells the world he wants them to live a ‘Fat Free Life.’  He also shares plans for an empire that includes a production company seeking writers and more.

In her second feature, Song interviews Franks Jordan who is the Comic Man!  There’s a good chance you’ve never met a comic creator before, and you’d be surprised at where Frank finds humour!

VETERAN REGGAE SINGER LLOYD BROWN RELEASES FIRST SINGLE FROM ALBUM ROOTICAL

Zion High Productions, a premiere US-based conscious roots reggae imprint, reaches across the ocean for a genuinely Rootical album release from the veteran Reggae vocalist, Lloyd Brown. ‘What You Sow’, the album’s first single, elaborates on the dub one drop while Brown cleverly emphasizes the dub delay with lyrics just a step behind the beat. This, Brown's 17th album to hit the world stage, is a defining moment in his storied career over three decades. Drawing directly from UK lovers reggae, the timelessly popular Virgin Islands roots and foundation Jamaican dub rockers vibes, Rootical can rightly claim legitimate roots in each of these genres. Greetings and welcome to Natasha's Music Box!

My name is Natasha Von Castle, and I write about music daily.  If you're in Reggae and Dancehall, you've heard of me.  If you're in Hip Hop and R&B, not so much.  All the same music is me!

I studied music formally and professionally, so I know a few tidbits.  When it comes to critiquing music, I write about what I like and say little about things I don't find appealing (Mama told me if you don't have something good to say, don't say anything at all).

I'm the Editor-in-Chief for www.L3Magazine.com and, in addition to writing about music, I'm a radio presenter on www.radioregent.com in Toronto (Monday's from 10am to 1pm EST), www.daflavaradio.com and 1430 AM in Atlanta (Tuesday's from 10am to 1pm EST), www.basslinemuzik.com in Tampa, www.Reggae4Us.com in the UK and Europe and www.NoyzRadio.com + 95.3 FM in Brooklyn, New York. 

I distribute Reggae and Dancehall (sometimes other genres) to over 5,000 radio, club and mixtape DJ's around the world on a daily basis, and have a number of clients which include artists, production companies and record labels.  Basically, I am very immersed in music and most times I know what I'm talking about!
