Ras Brando Signs Recording Contract with New Millionaire Entertainment!

Recording artist Ras Brando and his management team Copper Loxz Recordz announced the signing of a production, marketing and distribution deal with music powerhouse New Millionaire Entertainment.  The signing was made official in Jamaica, and is projected to be beneficial to both parties.

Based in Jamaica, the young Reggae recording artist has made a career of writing and performing music to uplift listeners, and agrees that teaming with New Millionaire Entertainment represents his next step in making his music widely available to a global audience.  “Music is not just about me writing, or the musicians playing, it’s also about the people receiving which is something that the NME Music Group does and does very well,” said the artist at the offices of New Millionaire Entertainment.

New Millionaire Entertainment has been insistent that their focus is delivery of quality music to an international demographic who appreciate and consume the Caribbean’s most valued audio commodity.  Dave Grant, Vice President of NME says “signing Ras Brando reflects some of the principles our company is built on.  We believe in giving music consumers quality music products and that quality is reflected in the music of Ras Brando.”  As they set their sights on the worldwide market targeting sales in Europe, Japan, South Asia and Africa, the team was very careful in its selection of the young Reggae artist.

Ras Brando recently released his first single on the NME imprint entitled “Nation to Lead” which has been very well received by International DJ’s, particularly the jocks in Europe.  Sir Daddy D from England’s largest online radio station, Reggae4Us.com says that “the lyrical content of the song Nation to Lead as well as the musical composition is of a standard that the business needs right now.”

Mr. Vegas, Sean Paul & Fatman Scoop Turn the Party Up!

In continuance of the global Party Tun Up phenomenon, ace dancehall DJ Mr. Vegas has collaborated with Sean Paul and popular hip hop DJ FatMan Scoop to debut the Party Tun Up Remix video.

Directed by Ramzi Farris of West Wall Street LLC, the video features the additional vocals of Sean Paul and the prompting of FatMan scoop; both adding complementary elements to the already popular smash.

The Party Tun Up Remix video was choreographed by three-time MTV VMA-nominated choreographer Tanisha Scott who is best known for her work with Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Sean Paul and Beyonce and is noted for incorporating Jamaican dancehall moves into mainstream American music.

Shot in November 2013 at two of New York’s more popular  and exclusive clubs, WIP and Greenhouse;  Party Tun Up the remix has a natural party vibe and with the original track already boasting a massive following worldwide there is now a visual element to the remix which itself has won its own fans.

Laced over an infectious up-tempo beat, the Party Tun Up remix video is a dance infused, visually energizing five minutes of fun and frolic, mimicking the actions of women the world over who have been dancing to the original track over the past year. Mr. Vegas is at his best, Sean Paul adds his star quality, Fatman Scoop brings his gritty hip hop vibe and dancehall artistes Ding Dong and Rayvon as well as Dutchess from the Vh1 reality show Black ink close the deal on what is a high quality, visually appealing effort.

The video for Party Tun Up the remix has a clear international feel and is at home on the video list of not just dancehall but international music fans. So far, the video has gained over 11 million views in five days on the popular World Star Hip Hop site and has been added to MTV.com, MTV Jams and VH1 Soul along with getting high rotation on several top radio stations.

Bigger Than Def Comedy Jam?!

There's no other poetry event in the world that draws a crowd larger than that of the non-profit entertainment ministry, P4CM, The Passion For Christ Movement.

Bold claim? Yes, but very accurate.  Last year 3200 people filled Cottonwood Church in Los Alamitos,Ca to hear some the world's top poets deliver clever, witty, thoughtful and powerfully life changing word play at  the poetry event P4CM calls "Rhetoric."

"I've been into poetry since 2007 and I've never experienced anything quite like this." says Andwele Williams of San Pedro, Ca. "Because of the quality and talent here I think this event will appeal to anyone regardless of their religion or lack thereof," he added.

The group started as a church in 2006 and though they no longer operate in that capcity, over the years they have evolved into one of the most influential players in Christian entertainment today. They started with events that brought in a just over one hundred attendes. Today thousands come from around the world to witness this event live. "We've had people travel from as far as Saudi Arabia and Australia to be here" said Timothy Senkungu, Executive Director of P4CM. "The fact that people are willing to travel that far is a testament to the quality of the event and the quality of the talent", he added.

Because of the high quality of their productions P4CM has been endorsed by some of the top names in Christian Hip Hop (Lecrae, Trip Lee, DaTruth, Andy Mineo, Propaganda and The Breax).

In 2013, P4CM added live music to its spoken word production. Previous events featured a DJ on stage to maintain crowd energy but adding a live band has taken that energy to another level. Last year, the band "Johnathan Traylor and One1Way" got everyone loose with their high energy rhythms and melodic voices and rapper R-Swift brought the crowd of 3000 plus to its feet with his  "Awesome God" anthem.

This year "Rhetoric 2014" will feature Collision Records recording artist Christon Gray (http://collision-records.com) who will be releasing his debut album this month which quickly shot to #5 on Itunes featured pre-orders..

"Rhetoric 2014" is set for August 8th 2014 and will be returning to Cottonwood Church (4505 Katella Ave. Los Alamitos, CA 90720)

Tickets are available at http://rhetoric.p4cm.com

Jamaica’s Billion Dollar Industry ►►► Free the Marijuana!

No matter where you stand on the debate regarding medical Marijuana and the decriminalization thereof, a lot of people, are making a lot of legal money, and that money is not from the original source … Jamaica.

Reports such as an article posted in The Toronto Star indicate that if Jamaica were to follow the lead of Oregon, Washington and Colorado state, and legalize medical Marijuana, they could indeed have a billion dollar industry on their hands.  Some estimate that tourism would increase as people would travel from their home to JA to receive treatment that only authentic green can bring.

That thinking has become the premise for the song “Free Marijuana” by Lovindeer.  Produced by Rorey Baker for One Pop Music, the song compares monies earned through the banana industry, bauxite and tourism, and comes to the conclusion that by far, the most profitable is Marijuana.  Pree the lyrics:  “here we stand / one and all / with our backs against the wall / to the right everything’s so tight / price is out of sight / to the left the IMF / them ah gwaan like them deaf / we need more foreign currency / we need more foreign currency / can we get it from banana / bauxite, tourism or sugar / but can it come from Marijuana….”  Mercy!
