Mighty Crown Presents ►►► Exco Levi – The Official Mixtape!

Greetings!

Mighty Crown’s reputation for delivering quality entertainment runs from stage shows, to Sound Clash to merchandise.  Today, Mighty Crown’s reputation extends to the Mixtape market, and front and center is the undisputed Knotty, Exco Levi!

Both entities have come together to give fans a mixtape which includes Exco’s hit chunes from 2013.  The mix plays so sweetly, you would think you’re at a concert.  Hit songs such as “Life in the Factory,” “Wicked Evil Man,” “Bleaching Shop” and “Storms of Life” which are reminders as to why this artist is one of the best.  Exco’s talent is also a reminder of why renowned producer Donovan Germaine (Penthouse Records) enjoys working with the artist, as well as Silly Walks Discotheque (Germany) and Larger Than Life Records (Boston - U.S.A)!

When I spoke to Exco about why he decided to put out the mix now, he said “my fans have been asking for this mix, and I wanted to give it to them special, and special comes from Mighty Crown putting the mix together!”  Not only does Mighty Crown do the mix, very prominent artists give customized jingles … Kaboom!

This is the perfect preview to what you’ll hear at Rebel Salute 2014!  Click the link or the mixtape cover to download the mix and make sure you connect with Exco on Twitter >>> @ExcoLevi

HOTTT New Dancehall ►►► Exco Levi – Man a Knotty!

Reggae’s shining star, Exco Levi is always in a serious gift giving mood.  This year alone he’s blessed us with several HOTTT Reggae releases, and today, Exco is giving us another gift but this time it’s a Dancehall chune … yes, you read me right … Dancehall and “Man ah Knotty!”

Expanding all territories, Exco boldly steps in to the world of Dancehall, not to perform slack lyrics but to give the people good music to dance to.  The artist sings:  “this is the Psalm of a Levi / Babylon fih leave I / from righteous livity / yuh know we nah guh defy / nah nyam no meat it could be curry or deep fry / 3 step with turban nuh call me no sweet guy / nah mek no money or no vanity deceive I / Ethiopia stretch forth her hand to receive I / Kings highway I ah travel / what a sweet time / Babylon can defeat I ….”  This is only 41 seconds into the chune!  Kaboom!

Giving good people good music to dance to, Exco proudly tells the world that he’s a knotty, and the kick is, when this chune is played on the radio, in the club, or on a mixed tape, people will be singing the chorus with him … “man ah knotty!”

The riddim, produced by Spott Music Productions, is Dancehall but it’s Dancehall with a heavy vibration.  Trust me, this is THE chune to beat.  If you don’t believe, attend Rebel Salute hosted by Tony Rebel and Queen IFrica and see what Exco Levi does on that stage!

Look out for the chune coming to iTunes soon!

How Beyonce's 'Beyonce' Stayed Secret Until the Day of Release?!

Without announcement or fanfare, Beyonce’s fifth album, simply entitled ‘Beyonce,’ arrived Friday morning at midnight, and was released without a lead single being released, without promotional video being released, no special performance, and no marketing campaign.  14 Tracks and multiple producers and no one knew it was coming!  How did she do this without a single leak?!

A lot of code names!  Not only did Beyonce use a lot of code names (according to Andrew Hampp of Billboard Magazine), King Bey used a lot of shifting deadlines which meant that producers and her team were unsure of the actual release date f her album.  What’s more, the final plans regarding the release wasn’t in place until last week.  To tell you how important Bey’s fans are to her, she says “I miss that immersive experience," she says, of watching music videos like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” as a family, as a mass event. "Now people only listen to a few seconds of a song on the iPods and they don’t really invest in the whole experience. It’s all about the single, and the hype. It’s so much that gets between the music and the art and the fans. I felt like, I don't want anybody to get the message, when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans."

On the executive level, final meetings were held with Columbia, Parkwood (Beyonce’s management company) late last week, and with iTunes to finalize plans for the album, which was code-named “Lily” to avoid leaks. Another final meeting announcing the album to employees and producers was held at Columbia on Thursday, Dec. 12. Only the most senior executives at iTunes, the album’s exclusive distributor until a planned physical release on Dec. 21, were clued in on the plans.

As for promo plans, Beyonce is in the midst of wrapping up the U.S. leg of her Mrs. Carter Tour, which plays New York’s Barclays Center next Thursday (Dec. 19.) Though plans were still being finalized, a screening event featuring a theatrical presentation of the 14 videos are being prepared.

HOTTT New Island Pop ►►► Maverick – She Like It!

Greetings!

Performing artist Maverick has created a successful formula for making great music, and that formula comes to life in his latest release called “She Likes It” which in one word is HOTTT!

Hailing from the Bean Town, aka Boston, crossover artist Maverick has stopped by to deliver his latest record called “She Likes It” which starts off with a great introduction, then eases into symphonic sounds before we hear the artist sing:  “saw you walking in the rain / trying to escape the pain / I said a woman like that should never have a tear so I gave her my name / I told her come my way / please don’t be ashamed / put my finger on her chin to lift her head up then I started to sing ….”  Kaboom!

The story continues with Maverick using his sweet voice to explain to the young lady that he understands the pain she’s been through, and he wants to be her knight in shining armor who takes her out of her heart ache.  Maverick represents the gentlemen of the world who believe in chivalry!  Adding a little grit to the song, we hear an easy Dancehall DJ lyrical flow at the bridge which is exactly how the crossover audience likes it.  This chune is a must play!

Broadcasting in amplified sound, catch Maverick and the chune “She Likes It” produced by Ballistic and Pushkeys at the YouTube link below.  You can also reach out to Mav on Twitter and let him know what you think >>> @MoneyMav

Countdown to Christmas and Happy Holidays ►►► Sanchez - This Christmas!

Greetings!

Today is December 1st, and the countdown is officially on to Christmas.  In addition to celebrating family and making plans for the New Year, we also enjoy good music from good artists, and today, Sanchez drops by to deliver his latest release which is just in time for the Holiday’s!

Produced by New Millionaire Entertainment, “This Christmas” is a remake of the classic originally performed by Donny Hathaway in 1970.  Adding some island soul to the musical delivery, Sanchez and team make this the kind of record that you will be playing repeatedly.  Sanchez intro’s with:  “Christmas / is that one special time of the year / a time to come together / sharing gifts / giving thanks / oh it’s Christmas time for real / a time for giving and sharing / caring yes….”

Musically, you will love how New Millionaire uses the keyboard for the skank and drops the bass line in and out which has elements of the Satisfaction riddim made famous by Trojan Records who produced Carl Dawkins “Satisfaction” and later picked up by Richie Spice and the chune “Grooving!”  Yes indeed … wicked vibes guaranteed to make your holiday playlist sound that much better!

Broadcasting in amplified sound, catch Sanchez and the chune “This Christmas” produced by New Millionaire Entertainment at the SoundCloud link below, and make sure you tweet with the artist @SanchezOfficial

Fresh from the Lab ►►► Sly & Robbie ft. Stingwray – Moringa Seed!

Greetings!

To some, Sly & Robbie (Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare) has done just about everything there is to do in music.  They’ve created timeless classics, launched the careers of many artists, and have won multiple awards; they’ve even earned Hero status in Jamaica.  Though everything mentioned is true, Sly & Robbie will not stop making music because it is as essential to them as breathing!

The duo’s latest release is an instrumental called “Moringa Seed” which features Stingwray.  Moringa, which is the plant / flower, is rich in Protein and Vitamin’s A, B and C, and is also anti-fungal, anti-viral, antiseptic, and antibacterial.   The Moringa seed is healthy, the plant is healthy, and the riddim / instrumental from Sly & Robbie is healthy!

Elements of the riddim will remind you of Beenie Man’s classic chune “Foundation” released on the award winning album Music is Life.  This version is a much slower version and is good for selectors who are moving from Spanish / Latin sounds to Reggae or even Jazz to Reggae and vice versa.

Broadcasting live and direct from Jamaica, and in amplified sound, catch Sly and Robbie and Stingwray with their newest release “Moringa Seed” at the links below!

What’s Up With @busysignal_turf and his Blurred Lines???

Greetings!

Busy Signal is dealing with a serious case of “Blurred Lines” and I think this case has come due to overwhelming demand from Mixed format DJ’s on Radio and who produce Mixed Tapes.  The HOTTT-ED one has remixed his HOTTT singles “Bedroom Bully” and “Same Way” to the hit “Blurred Lines” riddim.

Both chunes are hits; the original versions can easily take you from Throwback Dancehall to Hardcore Dancehall, and now with the remixes, you can move to or from uptempo R&B / Throwback Funk.  I’m looking at my crystal ball, and I think these remixes are a clear sign of some of the projects coming up soon for Busy.  Looking at the chronology, the “All in One” chune implemented Funk and Hip Hop, now the “Blurred Lines” remixes … yup!  My crystal ball doesn’t lie!  No matter what, you can’t contain the versatility, creativity or direction of the HOTTT-ED!

Tweet your thoughts about the remixes to Busy and Team via @busysignal_turf | @turfmusicent | @L3Magazine

HOTTT New Medley from the HOTTT-ED ►►► Busy Signal – All In One!

Greetings!

Denzel Washington is one of the best Actors and this is confirmed by his fans, and the academy who have awarded him countless accolades.  Mr. Washington will tell you that even though he’s won awards, he still trains with his acting coach, and he takes nothing for granted.  Busy Signal is the same with his craft.

As much as Busy has hit chune upon hit chune under his belt, he still hustles, practices, rehearses and goes hard as if he has nothing at all.  HOTTT-ED!  Busy’s newest release, called “All in One” is the type of medley / chune that once again, sets him ahead because of its tenacity.  You can hear the ‘growl’ in Busy’s voice which suggests that he is going to take what is his, which is the #1 spot.

Musically, we go from Mtume’s “Juicy,” to Dr. Dre’s “Still” to “Next Episode” to Mobb Deep’s “Quiet Storm” to Nas’s “Hate Me Now” and there’s more!  In total, the medley runs 5:59 and at no point will your finger be tempted to hit the ‘next’ button!  Kaboom!

If you’re a lyricist who is hooked on Busy’s prowess, believe me when I tell you, he will not, and he does not disappoint!  References to his hit chune Bumaye as well as artist Rihanna, Bounty Killer and Richie Spice are just too HOTTT, not to mention Turf Music dropping in the DMX “Ruff Riders Anthem” reference and Black Rob’s “Like Whoa!”  Musical Murdah!  Click the links below for the download, and hail the artist on Twitter >>> @busysignal_turf!

HOTTT New Mash-Up from the ‘Gangsta For Life’ ►►► Mavado – At the Top {Heatwave Refix}!

Greetings!

If I ask Gabriel and the Heatwave crew for mercy, they’re not going to give it to me so I’m just going to go with their flow which is swift like the current of the Zambezi River (South Africa) and as mashed up as mashed potatoes!   Yum!

Using a combination of House, Dubstep and Dancehall, Mavado gets the Heatwave treatment making his hit chune “At the Top” mix-able with several genres, and rocking every ‘body’ on the dance floor.  You will receive a million and one accolades for sharing this refix with friends and family, even worse if you request it in the club1  Wait, add this refix to your mixtape and watch the magic happen ... it's a thing called Musical Murdah!

Celine Dion – Loved Me Back to Life!

Greetings!

Coming November 8th, 2013, Celine Dion’s newest studio album entitled Loved Me Back to Life is approximately 11 days away from release, and to ‘wet’ the appetite of her eager fans, the Queen has shared a preview of her second lead single which I confess, have greedily consumed.

The second lead single is a remake with Stevie Wonder called “Overjoyed” and that is exactly what fans will be.

Using a symphonic opening as grand as Celine’s show in Las Vegas (slight exaggeration but you get my point), we hear the sweet introduction with Stevie’s voice singing “over time / I’ve been building my castle of Love….” Oh those familiar lyrics; classic melody which has become institutional for lovers of true Adult Contemporary!  We didn’t think a sing so fine could get any better, until the sweet voice of Celine comes in singing “over dreams / I have picked out a perfect come true / though you’d never / knew it  was of you I’ve been dreaming / the sand man has come from too far away / for you to say come back some other day….”

Using an underlying syncopation similar to Billy Joel’s classic “Just the Way You Are,” Celine and Stevie draw us deep in to their vocal interplay which pays the ultimate compliment between the two.

If this track is any indication of how great Celine’s album is going to be, then you know it is going to be brilliant!

Here’s the track listing:

1. Loved Me Back to Life
2. Somebody Loves Somebody
3. Incredible (duet with Ne-Yo)
4. Water And A Flame
5. Breakaway
6. Save Your Soul
7. Didn’t Know Love
8. Thank You
9. Overjoyed (duet with Stevie Wonder)
10. Thankful
11. At Seventeen
12. Always Be Your Girl
13. Unfinished Songs

P.S.  Tweet Celine your thoughts >>> @celinedion+CelineDionGR6

Heads Up! Exclusive Preview from Larger Than Life Records – Going Home Riddim!

Greetings!

I don’t mean to be a tease, but today is going to be the exception to my rule!

Tosh and Trees, and the team at Larger Than Life Records alongside Dynasty Records have put together an incredible One Drop riddim called the Going Home Riddim.  Using a sweet swing and bounce vibe, the record label executives (Tosh and Trees) designed the riddim to make people skank, and skank they do.

Leading the riddim run is Chino McGregor with the chune “Larger Than Life,” Busy Signal and Exco Levi tag team with the chune “Wicked Evil Man,” Gappy Ranks comes in with “Free My Chains” and Bobby Hustle completes the package with “The Hunted.”  The entire riddim will be available on iTunes and all digital retail formats on November 5th, 2013, but until we get there, let me just say that this is the type of riddim that excites the industry.  This is the kind of riddim that will make people want to go to a session (dance) and skank on their good foot.  This is ital music at its best!

Here’s where the tease comes in, catch the riddim mix preview courtesy of Jahson of Solomonic Sounds at this link >>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZ4hmFQTmDY

More information about the riddim and its production will come soon.  In the meantime, share your comments and thoughts directly with Team Larger Than Life Records on Twitter @LTLRecords | @BobbyHustle | @busysignal_turf | @Excolevi | @GAPPYRANKS | @L3Magazine

Bless up and thanks for your support!

HOTTT-ED New Dancehall ►►► Busy Signal – Same Way!

Greetings!

Do you remember the expression ‘the message is in the music?!  Hold that thought!  My good friend Busy Signal has dropped off some new music and of course, it’s HOTTT same way, and lyrically flattens whatever may be left standing!

Doing what he does best, Busy lets the world know that nothing has changed, and it’s business as usual “Same Way.”  In fact, the DJ begins his new chune by clearing his throat to make sure there is no misunderstanding, then says:  “yo street ah lock same way / lyrics tuff same way / mih ting ah beat same way / yeah / dem want it drop but it rise to the top / same way / still ah whap dem same way / yeah / yutes a hustle fih dih food same way / touch dih road same way / get yuh money same way / yeah / hot-ed / nuttin nuh change same way / mih inna dih place ah voice song same way / yeah….”  Musical Murdah!

True to Busy’s style, the introductory lyrics do not compare to the lyrics he gives deeper into the chune.  So prolific is his style, that it almost sounds like the music is fighting to keep up with him; the perfect analogy is Usain Bolt reaching the finish line and his competitors are still coming out of the blocks.  Kaboom.  Busy is flawless and fearless in his lyrical delivery.

For those of you interested in the sonar, the music becomes irrelevant (and I say that with respect) as the focus is on the points that Busy leads up to lyrically, but if you need an idea, compare the pace of the riddim to a horse running furlongs.  By the way, this is a Turf Music production!

Catch Busy Signal and the chune “Same Way” at the video link below and make sure you tweet the artist your thoughts about the chune >>> @busysignal_turf | @TurfMusicEnt | @L3Magazine

Brand New Lover’s Rock from the Legend ►►► Sanchez – Him Buy Yu a Drink!

Greetings!

Every single thing is coming up new for Sanchez!  New music, new look, new team and a new distribution deal … you might even say that Sanchez has a new sound musically; his sweet voice is still the same!  Keeping with the theme of ‘new,’ Sanchez’s new chune “Him Buy Yu a Drink” is HOTTT off the press, new, and ready for you!

Produced by New Millionaire Entertainment and distributed by Universal Music Group, Sanchez takes ladies to school in a club setting by letting them know that if dude buys a lady a drink, and she gives him a dance, it does not mean that he is going home with her for the night.  To make the point, the singer sings:  “true him buy you a drink and get a dance / him mussi think that you’re looking for romance / him want yuh number / so give him six / tell him fih go buy the lotto because him / have a better chance / let him know not because you’re here only / doesn’t really really mean that you’re lonely….”  Kaboom, but wait till you hear the lyrics about dude waiting for chick outside the restroom!  Whoi!!!

And in this one chune, Sanchez has a ladies anthem!  He gives women around the world permission and authority to walk away from dudes who are being annoying in a club over a drink!  Musically, fans will like the easy vibe of the riddim, especially the tickle of the organ!

Broadcasting in amplified sound and ready for your Radio and Mixtape pleasure, catch Sanchez and his new chune “Him Buy Yu a Drink” produced by New Millionaire Entertainment at the links below.  Make sure you let Team Sanchez know when you play the chune with a Tweet >>> @SanchezOfficial | @L3Magazine

HOTTT New Lover’s Rock Cover ►►► Nickeishia Barnes – Give Me You!

The name Nickeishia Barnes may sound familiar to you because of her success with Digicel Rising Stars, and her name may sound familiar because of the fantastic EP she released in January called ‘Wounded in Love’ on the J’Island Records label.  Today, Nickieshia Barnes is going to sound familiar because of the cover she’s recorded of Tamia’s song “Give Me U.”

Produced by Sheldon ‘Calibud’ Stewart (son of the legend Bobby Digital), the song hears Nickeishia in a style that is Lover’s Rock and at the same time allows her R&B voice to shine bright.  The part of the song where she sings “sexy words / don’t mean a lot to me / cause I’ve heard / just about everything / that a man could ever say / to me to make me stay / before / now I need more / so don’t bring me roses / bring me the truth...” will impress even the toughest critics!  Ka-Boom!

The preview link is available on SoundCloud.  Big up DJ Steve from the Karma Reggae Show for breaking this chune to his radio audience in the UK!

Strictly For the Lover's ►►► Stephen Souza – Missing You!

Greetings!

Stephen Souza has a brand new song on the road, and true to Stephen’s style, it’s designed for the Lover’s!

His new song “Missing You” is about a man who got into an argument with his miss, she left and now he’s missing her … bad!  Familiar theme brought to reality thanks to the literal cry in Stephen’s voice when he sings (not to worry, he and his miss are ‘A’ ok)!

Musically, the song (can’t call this one a chune) is a synthesizer based melody with a bass line you will respect as it’s familiar, and allows the artist a good canvass to paint these lyrics:  “now yesterday we had a quarrel / I said some things I shouldn’t have said / now I lay across the bed where we once laid / now the only thing that greets me / is this cold and empty pillow / and I’m going girl out of my head ….”  Mercy!

Combining elements of R&B and Reggae with a dash of Lover’s Rock, Stephen Souza had a brand new chune on his hands waiting for you to hear!

Catch Stephen Souza and the song “Missing You” at the video link below, and make sure you hail him on Twitter >>> @stephensouzanyc  you can also 'Like' him on Facebook and become a fan >>> Facebook/StephenSouzaMusic

Super HOTTT New Reggae ►►► Miriam Simone – Dem Ah Chat!

Greetings!

Reggae music has one more reason to be excited, and that one more reason is a singer by the name of Miriam Simone!

Performing with passion, Miriam has caught the attention of a number of people, including the legendary ear of the Digital B recording studio on Ron’s Road in Kingston, Jamaica.  There, where history has been recorded by legends such as Buju Banton, Morgan Heritage and Shabba Ranks, Miriam Simone laid the vocals for the chune “Dem Ah Chat” which is one of many that will catch your attention!

Adapting the familiar lyrics from Bob Marley and The Wailers chune “Hypocrites,” Miriam brings the message to 2013 by singing: “Dem ah chat, chat, chat, chat, chat, chat, chat pon mih business / mih business, mih business / ah / nobody haffi know / dangerous people / I know them all / they smile in my face / but don’t like me at all / but I don’t mind them / I just stay far / they are hypocrites but they can’t faze me / I still show them my Love….”  Ka-Boom!

Musically, you will be excited by the richness of the bass line which is the ultimate back up to Miriam and supports her every word.  The greatness of the music comes courtesy of Giark, Son of the legend, Bobby Digital!  If you are a player of Reggae music, this is a chune you must add to your selection.

HOTTT New Dancehall! Collie Buddz – Live Life!

Holiday celebrations are in full swing, and I’m rolling with Collie Buddz and his newest single “Live Life!”  Matter of fact, not just for the Holidays, I’m going to take Collie’s advice and celebrate everyday like it’s my Birthday!  Ha!

The new single from the artist saw his fans rush to his YouTube channel to get a preview of the party song designed for those who don’t want stress, but just want to party with good people every day!

Produced and distributed on the artists own Harper Digital label, the track is simple, allowing Collie’s voice to be heard clearly as he sings “hey oh / mih wallet fat and mih waan spend money oh / me ah party like ah champion until day oh / me nah leave dih club and mih nuh care weh dem ah say oh / all wine 6:30 baby get low / and me ah love it when you bubble it, bubble it, bubble it pon me / just bring yuh friend come let’s double it pon me….”

What’s more, Collie cleverly weaves the melody of a very popular 70’s disco classic into the last verse of the song making it a must play to the end!  Par-tay!  The chune is radio / mixtape and party ready and has received the stamp of approval from all Collie Buddz fans around the world!

by the way, the song is available on iTunes >>> http://bitly.com/Tt7vZb!
