D-Major – Real Know Real!

There is a nasty parasite moving through peoples lives, and that nasty parasite is called badmind.  Badmind is the act of committing actions for the express purpose of seeing another person fall.  An example of such an act is:  “Joe knowingly told a lie about Sam to the manager which resulted in Sam being fired from his job.”  That is badmind!

On the other hand, when you are amongst good people, you’re amongst real people, and in comes the musical ting called D-Major “Real Know Real!”

This chune (from the Streets of Gold Riddim produced by Donovan Germaine) is enjoying a second wind and is being added to station playlists as if it were just released today.  Originally released in May, 2013, the chune is favored because of the realness of the lyrics.  D-Major sings:  “Nuh make no mistake know dih real from dih fake / yuh can use Viagra fih cure headache / can preach love if yuh thoughts full ah hate / don’t tek no bend yute / stay pon dih straight / oh inna life when mih stop and go check it / nuff people come in like jewel weh cosmetic / dem nuh real / when me and mih family inspect it / wolf inna sheep clothes ah step it but tell dem dis / real know real bout yah….”  Kaboom!

This chune should be the anthem for every real, clean hearted and genuine person in the world who has no time to allow badmind to take up space in their living and who instead is focused on making good music, or playing good music and seeing the world dance with joy.

If you haven’t already, tell D-Major what you think about the chune via Twitter >>> @dmajormuzic and make sure you catch him tomorrow (December 1st) at RE Unplugged as a part of RJR Music Week alongside Duane Stephenson!

VP Records Presents ►►► Strictly The Best Vol. 50 Mixed By Rico Vibes!

Rico Vibes is one of the best Selectors and Disc Jocks representing Reggae, Dancehall, Soul and R&B, and when it comes to putting together a mixtape, Rico is strictly the best which is why VP Records reached out to our industry veteran to ask him to make this mix!

Playing classics from yesteryear and today, Rico creates the perfect balance for Caribbean nationals to appreciate the mix’s selection, and to lure new fans to consume the genre.  Kaboom!  Where else can you hear Half Pint, Penthouse Records artist Shuga and Jah’s messenger Luciano, alongside Etana, Sanchez, Duane Stephenson and George Nooks in the same place?!

Rico Vibes, founder of Natural Vibes Sound, has been creating mixtapes for several years, and is the creator of the signature series Singers Choice.  The Singers Choice franchise is so classic, that Vol. 1, made in 1998 is now worth an estimated $60 USD in good condition (with inlay card and jewel case), as is Vol. 2 to 15.  If you have a copy of these mixes, you have gold in your hands!

Every song selected on Strictly the Best Vol. 50, every jingle played, every word spoken is perfectly placed and ready for you to play at any function and for any occasion!  Make sure you get your copy of Strictly the Best Vol. 50 mixed by Rico Vibes for VP Records using the links below!  You can also buy a copy of the compilation at http://www.vprecords.com/albums/

Big Up Notorious B.I.G and Busy Signal - HOTTT New Banger!

When we check the dictionary for the meaning of the word notorious, the definition says ‘publicly or generally known, as for a particular trait.”  An example of the word notorious in a sentence is “Busy Signal is notorious for making music people love.”  With that said…!

Busy Signal
Busy has unleashed another single that combines Hip Hop (a genre he really loves) with Dancehall (a genre that really loves him!) and the result is the HOTTT club banger “Glass Hand!”

Using the infamous riddim “The Notorious B.I.G” as a backdrop, Busy pays homage to legends who paved the way for him and other artists, and at the same time creates a party vibe for everyone (old and young) to celebrate life!  The DJ says:  push up the hand and let me see the glass hand / celebration cause life short and / gyalis inna dih street man nuh Tarzan / mih seh mih get more than the Victoria Secret draws man / hotead / me alone up inna mih class and / hail dih Killer cause dih General cross and …!

When you hear what Busy does to this riddim, you would wish Notorious B.I.G. was alive to collaborate with him.  As a matter of fact, I think Biggie would be a huge fan of Busy, just as Busy is a HUGE fan of Biggie!

If you’re ready to get your party lit, you’re ready for this chune from Busy available at the link below.  Make sure you let Busy know what you think via Twitter >>> @busysignal_turf

Released Today! Cali P - Healing of the Nation EP!

Cali P’s EP, Healing of the Nation has been released today, and is moving fast and hot like Granny’s Ackee and salt fish breakfast with fried dumpling on Sunday morning!

Reggae fans around the world pre-ordered the album on iTunes (using this link http://bit.ly/HealingOfTheNation) and all agree that is one of the best releases for 2014!

Reggae has a brand new release to celebrate, and that new release comes from Cali P!  His new EP, Healing of the Nation is sweeping over the masses like medicine for all illnesses!

Cali’s 9 track disc is simple and follows these principles:  celebrate Mama Africa, the place we all come from, recognize the strength you have in you to withstand any and all obstacles that come your way, and together, we can make a great life.  In a beautiful way, Cali P showcases the principles of Rastafari.  Bringing these principles together is enhanced by Cali’s hand selected producers, which includes Riga from Hemp Higher Productions, Jr Blender, Jugglerz, Seani B (just to name a few), and Cali’s hand selected band who bring the EP to life every time Cali hits the stage to perform live!

The lead single from Healing of the Nation, “Solution” is picking up momentum not only in Jamaica, but around the world.  The message in the music is something everyone can relate to.  The artist sings:  “Hey Mr. Money mih seh I want a solution / right now out there so much problems / unno gwaan like some people nuh important / from unno see poor people unno fight dem / nuff people forget where dem come from / dem forget seh dem never have nothing / look like the money start blind them / so me use dem ears fih remind them….”

What fans will like about this album is it’s authentic Reggae offering!
